Return on average equity (ROAE) determines a company’s profitability by comparing its net profit with the amount of equity owned by its shareholders. This ratio is a measure of how effectively a company uses its capital. The return on average equity formula is an alternative to the more common return on equity (ROE) ratio.

Another way to calculate the ratio of volume to weight of an object is to use the density formula. It isn’t that complicated as you only need only one operation to determine it.

The density formula is as is:

where:

  • D – density;
  • M – mass; and
  • v – volume.

Density of water

For the majority of purposes it’s enough that the density of water is 1,000 kg/m3. Its density can fluctuate depending on temperature, as it does many other substances. However, we’ve got an incredibly small, but significant anomaly with regard to water. Although the general rule states that water behaves in a different way depending on its temperature, this is not the case with water. It sinks towards the lowest. The colder water is kept on the surface and then turns into the form of ice. This process is coupled with low thermal conductivity of glacier to ensure that the lake’s bottom stays free of frozen water, so that fish can survive. Scientists believe this is the same mechanism which helped establish life on Earth. If the water had froze from the bottom up, then life would never have been able to exist.
